MediaTek, the world’s 4th largest global fabless semiconductor company, reiterated its 5G readiness at the launch of the second edition of the MediaTek Technology Diaries here in Chennai.
MediaTek powers more than 1.5 billion devices a year and is a market leader in power-efficient systems-on-chip (SoC) for smart devices, smart-home solutions, Voice Assistant Devices (VAD) and automotive solutions.
MediaTek leads the initiative to connect people to their devices by demystifying technologies and features so consumers can do more of what they need with their devices. Through its ‘MediaTek Technology Diaries Series, Which makes technology more accessible and understandable to the common consumer.
The second edition of Technology Diaries kicked off with a discussion on the impact of MediaTek Technologies in everyday life. Panelists included popular RJ Sano from 91.9 FM, Mr. Anku Jain- Managing Director, MediaTek India, and Mr. Anuj Sidharth, Deputy Director, Marketing and Communications, MediaTek India.
MediaTek recently unveiled its groundbreaking New 5G SoC for First Wave of 5G Flagship Devices, that will start rolling out globally in 2020. With MediaTek’s entry into the high-end 5G chipset market, the ultimate winners will be the consumers, it will enable the introduction of more 5G devices that deliver super-fast connectivity and extreme user experiences.
The innovative systems-on-chip (SoC) is present across a portfolio of leading mobile and non-mobile brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, Realme, Infinix, LG, Paytm, KENT CamEye, Amazon and Mantra among others.
The upcoming and current devices and solutions powered by MediaTek use technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, 5G, and NB-IoT to empower people to change the world.

The integrated 5G chipset with the MediaTek Helio M70 5G modem built in packs world-leading technology into its compact design.
It includes ARM’s newest Cortex-A77 CPU, Mali-G77 GPU and MediaTek’s most advanced AI processing unit (APU) to meet the power and performance demands of 5G to deliver super-fast connectivity and extreme user experiences. The new chipset will be ready for lead customer samples in Q3 of 2019 and be in commercial devices by Q1 of 2020.
