As me being a South Indian , Filter Coffee is a must have beverage for every occasion and there is a pure Eternal love with the smell of Filter Kappi aka Coffee . It’s refreshing aroma is something that almost every South Indian household wakes up to.

I can go on and on about Filter Coffee, let’s leave it here for now and talk about the munchies with the filter coffee.

In this post, I am going to talk about the snacks that I prefer to have with my filter coffee and I’m sure you too would agree to most of these:

1. Medu Vada

The Meduvada is made primarily of black lentils (urad dal) batter. The black lentils are soaked in water for several hours, and then ground to a paste. The paste may be flavoured with other ingredients such as asafoetida, methi seeds(fenugreek), ginger, cumin seeds, black pepper, curry leaves, chillies and coconut pieces. It is then patted into doughnut-shapes and fried in oil until golden brown

2.  Murukku

Murukku is typically made from rice and urad dal flour. The flours are mixed with water, salt, asafoetida and either sesame seeds or cumin seeds. The mix is kneaded into a dough, which is shaped into spiral or coil shapes either by hand or using a mould. The spirals are then deep fried in vegetable oil.

     3.Banana Chips

Banana chips are dried slices of bananas. They can be covered with sugar or honey and have a sweet taste, or they can be fried in oil and spices and have a salty or spicy taste

4. Kurkure Masala Munch

Kurkure is made from rice, corn, dal and spices which are available in our kitchens. Kurkure`s Masala Munch flavour is my personal favourite and it makes an amazing combination with Filter coffee!

5. Aloo Bonda

Aloo Bonda is a snack made up of mashed potato balls, dipped into besan batter, mixed with some Masala. It is then fried up until is light Yellow brownish and then ready to eat with Chutneys or Tomato Sauce.

4So what are you waiting for? Grab your cup of filter coffee and enjoy with these lip-smacking snacks.
