In the Recent times we have been seeing many original Web series & Movies , all thanks to the online streaming services. Gone are the days, when we could only watch movies in a cinema hall and then wait days for it to get broadcasted by the TV channels.
But that’s not the case anymore. Online streaming services have changed the way we see content today, by making their own movies and TV shows. With good production values and interesting cinematic experiments, these online streaming services have proven that good movies can be made by anyone.
Off late, the number of original movies and TV shows have increased by leaps and bounds. One such is a ZEE5 Original movie Kalavu. Having been a fan of thriller movies, I recently came across the trailer of ZEE5 Original movie Kalavu. I got to say that I am pretty excited about the movie after watching the trailer. Not just because it falls in the thriller genre, but because it features some fantastic actors from Kollywood. Want to know who they are? Read on!
Kalaiyarasan: You may know him by the name ‘Anbu’ from Movie Madras , Kalaiyarasan is a promising actor who has given Amazing Screenplay in various Movies . Though he has been in the industry since 2010, this acclaimed actor got his first breakthrough when he played as Anbu in Madras. He is known for choosing some Interesting roles and I hope he did the same in Kalavu.
Chinni Jayanth: Yup, you heard it right, the legend is back in the game again, and we could not be any happier. If you have ever watched any of the 90s movies, then you would know the true potential of this famous comedian. Till date, it is believed that he shines whenever he shares the screen with our Thalaivar. (He also a small cameo in ‘Petta’.) It will be interesting to watch what his character has to offer in Kalavu.
Venkat Prabhu: People many know him for his directorial ventures. However, many people might not know that has been an actor and a great one at that. In the 2002 flick, April Maadhathil, he played as one of the friends of Srikanth and people were really full of praises for his acting skills. Over his career, he has acted in more than 20 movies and in each one he made sure that he has excelled in his role. From the trailer, it is evident that he is playing a police officer, something he has never done before and it looks very promising.
Karunakaran: This actor hit the limelight with cult comedy Soodhu Kavvum. Different from other comedians of his generation, Karunakaran has managed to become a fan favourite for his realistic acting style. Right from Attakathi Dinesh to Superstar, he has shared the screen with some of the best in Kollywood. Having been a part of cult films like Soodhu Kavvum and Indru Netru Naalai in the past, it would be interesting to see whether Kalavu manages to make it to that list too.
Geevee : A lot of you might know him from his appearance in the famous Tamil Youtube Channel, Put Chutney. Going by trailer, he seemed to be playing the role of criminal. But, you never know. New age Kollywood directors are known to surprise with their characters and Geevee’s character could one in Kalavu.
